One of my favourite things to do in Niagara Falls is to visit the Niagara Floral Showcase. It’s located about a ten minute walk south of the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
For over 60 years The Niagara Parks Commission who own and operate this Niagara Falls attraction, has numerous floral displays throughout the year. You’ll even find tropical birds flying throughout the indoor garden. Here’s a trick I learned. If you want one of the humming birds to land on your finger put a bit of sugar on your finger (wet your finger) and stand still.
One of my favourites is the Reiger Begonia display that takes place between mid-September through October. You haven’t seen Begonias or Coleus until you see these lovely plants.
There is a small fee for parking but admission is free. Open daily 9:30 am until 5 p.m.

Paul Heinrich does niarga have a season, or are most things open year around?
George Bailey Niagara is somewhat seasonal. Busier during the warmer month, BUT,many of our attraction, hotels, motels B and B's remain open year-round. Niagara becomes a Winter Wonderland when the snow starts to arrive, usually December and continues until mid-March.
mimi batnes Thanks from the Info/experienced insight. we are traveling from Idaho - I have seen the falls from the US side - why is it often said the falls are prettier from the Canadian side?
George Bailey Mimi, Niagara Falls, Canada has been blessed with a frontal view of the falls. Our Park system also extends parallel to the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario,a distance of 56 kilomteres.
Dee Hollinger I have been going to Niagara All my life and never knew about this!! My husband and I just spent the weekend at Niagara and toured the wineries and Niagara on the Lake and we hope to return for the icewine festival in January. I saw an ad for a Jazz concert [I thought the same weekend] but don't seem to be able to find it on the web. Are you aware of this? Thanks for the great blog-I wish I had found it Before I went!
George Bailey Dee, I'm unaware of any Jazz Festival in Niagara this January. We do have two popular ones each year, one at Hillibrand Winery in mid August and another one at the Willowbank Estates in early June. If I learn of one in January I'll get back to you.
